Did you know  the “J” in Jewish stands for Joy?
If not, then you haven’t experienced Aish Denver.

Aish Denver is a place for one to discover greater joy, understanding, depth and pride in Judaism with many different points of entry.

In addition to our friendly Shabbat and holiday prayer services, our beautiful, new, state-of-the-art facility houses the renowned Richard E. Rudolph Shalom Hebrew School, Camp Shoovy, our fun and exciting summer camp, as well as new and exciting learning opportunities, all designed to provide a forum for individuals to explore life’s questions in a refreshing and open atmosphere.

At Aish Denver, we learn. We laugh (a lot). We socialize and make friends. We sing. We ask lots of questions (and provide meaningful answers). We learn to talk to G-d, and we learn how to hear G-d talking to us. We help strengthen the family unit.

We have many experiences that awaken and bring joy to the soul and serenity to the heart. And we have fun doing it. We love little kids, big kids, teens, parents, grandparents, singles, couples and everyone in between.

Aish Denver is a new, vibrant and contemporary center for Jewish life and learning. We offer something for anyone wishing to spiritually strengthen themselves, their family and the Jewish people.
We also offer early childhood education at the Aish Denver Preschool. A new scholarship fund at the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado offers scholarships to any Jewish early childhood education center in Denver or Boulder, including ours. Learn more about the fund.

Judaic themes are taught through exciting activities, stories, songs, games and contests, which are part of the unique experience. Combined with group discussions and educational programs, these events bring to life the beauty and values of our tradition.

Summer activities include sports and swimming, art projects, drama, singing and dancing, games, field trips, exercise, cooking and baking, overnights and Shabbatons. Shoovy campers acquire terrific role models, good friends and a wonderful appreciation for their Jewish heritage and a love for the land of Israel.

Qualified, caring and well-trained role models are flown in to lead the Shoovy experience. The Aish Denver facility provides a safe, secure and welcoming home for Shoovy campers. The space includes bright, modern classrooms, playing fields, basketball courts, a fully-equipped playground and study hall. Shalom Hebrew School offers the best in Hebrew School education! This creative and exciting Sunday morning (9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. ) program, developed for Jewish children, ages 4 through 12, was designed to nurture the seed of love for Jewish customs, celebrations and heritage.

Shalom Hebrew School provides a safe and secure environment for each child to learn two vitally important lessons:

1. To become a person whose feelings are deeds are sensitive to the lives of other people—a “mentsch.”
2. To face life’s situations in a balanced, healthy and positive way—with a winning attitude!

Children will also learn to read Hebrew. This will give them the tools to celebrate their Bar/Bat Mitzvah properly and participate in prayer services for many years to come!

Children will go beyond the traditional celebratory aspect of their Bar/Bat Mitzvah occasion and learn that it is a special time to embrace Jewish values.

New friends will be made among peers, and among mentors and teachers. Jewish youngsters will come together from every part of the Jewish spectrum to learn about how the similarities and the differences among people can truly be wonderful.

Topics Include:
• Hebrew Reading
• Torah/Parsha
• Holidays
• Jewish Values
• Prayer
Cost is $635 for the year

The word Mikvah literally translates as collection, referring to a collection of water. A kosher Mikvah is always connected to a natural source of water. The Mizel Community Mikvah, for example, utilizes a highly sophisticated and intricate system to accumulate and store fresh rain water, which is used to fill our Mikvahs.
A Mikvah can be used for several purposes:
  1. By Jewish women and men in order to achieve a change in spiritual status (which will be further explained below);
  2. As the final procedure for conversion into Judaism; and
  3. For utensils that are to be used for food.
Immersing in a Mikvah has the power to spiritually change a person completely. The Mikvah is often compared to a womb. When a person immerses, it is as if he / she has momentarily returned to the womb, to be reborn an entirely new person.

The natural water making up the Mikvah, is considered to be as close to G-d’s original creation as we can get. Created before the earth itself, natural bodies of water are, innately, an unparalleled medium for spiritual connection. Immersion in a Mikvah is therefore a physical act that reconnects us to our Creator, returning us to a natural state of purity and clarity.

The concept of Mikvah is often misunderstood as being a process of cleansing something that has become dirty. This is a very common misconception that has no basis in Jewish law and philosophy. We learn, for example, that during Temple times, the Jewish High Priest (Kohein) was required to immerse in the Mikvah after going into the Holy of Holies on Yom Kippur. The Priest was obviously not defiled in any way by this tremendous privilege bestowed upon him. His status was merely altered at that moment, and in order to regain his normal status, he had to immerse in the Mikvah. So too, men and women undergo ritual immersions in order to achieve a change in spiritual status.

Central to Jewish life is the use of the Mikvah in accordance with the Laws of Family Purity; a set of fundamental laws outlining a cycle of physical union and separation between husband and wife. Viewed as one of G-d’s greatest gifts to humanity, these laws are designed to preserve the close love between a man and a wife, through a constant renewal and strengthening of their relationship with one another.

The Mizel Community Mikvah complex features:
1.
A SPA-LIKE WOMEN’S MIKVAH, equipped with three luxurious preparation rooms, offering women an opportunity to relax and rejuvenate. Spacious rooms, warm lighting and Jacuzzi bathtubs enhance the pleasurable experience.

Welcome to the Aish Denver Preschool!

Mission

  • The Aish Preschool provides a loving, supportive, safe and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages two, three and four.
  • Using a curriculum inspired by Jewish values, the Aish Preschool stimulates each child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, while instilling a lifelong love for Jewish heritage and learning.
  • The Aish Denver Preschool embraces the philosophy that children learn best by doing; that learning requires active thinking and experimenting, so that children can figure out their world and everything in it.
  • The goal of our curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic, self-confident and inquisitive explorers, teaching them how to learn, at their own pace, and in ways that are best for them.

Developmental Goals

  • Social: To help children feel comfortable in school, trust their new environment, make friends, and feel that they are part of a group.
  • Emotional: To help children experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control, and have a positive attitude towards life.
  • Cognitive: To help children become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success, and by helping them acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe their ideas, observations, and feelings.
  • Physical: To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.

Health & Safety

  • Working with the State of Colorado and the City of Greenwood Village, the Aish Preschool follows the strictest of health and safety standards, ensuring that each and every child is safe and sound. A sophisticated security system adds to the peace-of-mind that parents can enjoy.

Our Facility

  • The Aish facility is equipped with four bright, friendly classrooms, as well as a state-of-the-art, secure playground and playing field. An indoor gym area offers children a space to explore on cold or rainy days.
