Since our members live throughout the greater Boulder/Denver metropolitan area, we schedule our services and events at a variety of locations.  We encourage our members to suggest new events and locations.

Our northern location for Shabbat services and the home of our Jewish Cultural School (JCS) and Adult Education is Countryside Recreation, 10470 Oak, Broomfield (near Flatirons Crossing. Our High Holiday sevices/community dinner and Passover Seder are at Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 W. 32nd Ave., Golden. Our Denver location for Shabbat services is at Montview Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia St., Denver, near the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.

Beth Ami CCHJ is a welcoming community serving the Denver/Boulder metro area that connects to Jewish past, celebrates Jewish present and links to Jewish future through a Humanistic philosophy. Humanistic Judaism honors Jewish culture and tradition and affirms that human beings possess the power and responsibility to shape their own lives.

Beth Ami CCHJ is affiliated with a worldwide movement under the auspices of the Society for Humanistic Judaism.   Rabbi Sherwin T.  Wine founded the movement in 1963 with nine families in Birmingham, Michigan.    He wanted to provide a home for humanistic, secular, and cultural Jews.

Our monthly Shabbat services feature programs that we hope will interest our diverse congregation, including speakers, concerts, and family dinners.  In addition we have movie nights, family hikes and retreats.

Lenore Kingston, ACSW, AB in Education is the JCS School Director. Children ages 3 through 13 learn and celebrate Jewish holidays, history, music, art and literature. Our yearly topic for 2010-11 is Humanistic Judaism, its leaders and its teachings. This year's theme is dignity, using our power to shape our lives according to our evolving individual beliefts.  .

Parents are invited to join our Adult Education Program led by Sheila Malcolm, one of our madrikhs (lay leaders).  We conclude our Jewish Cultural School by eating lunch and sharing our learning as a community.

We also offer an intensive B'nai Mitzvah program.  Children in 6th grade join our B'nai Mitzvah class that meets at the same time as our Jewish Cultural School.   Each Mitzvah student explores their interests and their connections with Judaism in order to design a meaningful celebration.

Please visit our website at www.bethami.com for calendar events. All are welcome to attend.

Tu B'Shevat is a time to have conversations on sustainability and environmental awareness.  Hazon, an organization promoting the intersection of Judaism and environmentally sound practices,  suggests beginning our Seder with a story about two men fighting over a piece of land.  The story explains that we have to listen to the land and realize that the land belongs to no one; instead we belong to the land.  Come and learn how you can take care of the earth.
