B’nai Chaim, established in 1992, is a small and vibrant congregation located in Morrison, Colorado.   Our mission, as opposed to large synagogues, is to be a closely-knit, warm, and inclusive Reform Jewish Congregation in the south western suburbs of Denver.  B’nai Chaim serves a widespread and diverse population that includes the communities of Morrison, Littleton, Lakewood, Highlands Ranch, Ken Caryl, Golden, and the nearby foothills. Our synagogue offers a warm and caring place for worship, study and community under the spiritual leadership of Rabbi Joel Schwartzman.

Choosing a preschool for your child is an important decision.  The preschool environment must be a place where children can express themselves verbally, emotionally and through play. At B'nai Chaim we strive to help each child develop their own "learning style". Every child is unique and specially gifted, as teachers, our job to help them develop these gifts. They are encouraged to try new things and observe this new environment. They will have the choice of participating in all activities or just listening until they become comfortable and  ready to participate.

At the B’nai Chaim Gan (Garden), our philosophy is to provide an excellent opportunity that will enhance the uniqueness and creativity of each child within a warm, loving and secure environment.  Our program is balanced to encourage physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development while providing a comfortable Jewish identity.  Learning at B’nai Chaim Gan is fun, motivating, stimulating and exciting.  It is a joyful experience, occurring in a warm, positive, accepting classroom environment.

We use tactile and sensory objects to help the children develop and be aware of their senses. We encourage group time, as well as personal time to develop their individual interests. The children are encouraged to use and expand their verbal skills when communicating with others in the classroom. They are also challenged in math and literacy throughout the day. We at B'nai Chaim incorporate learning through every day activities.

Friday mornings are very special at our school - we celebrate Shabbat with our friends each week.  We spend the morning baking challah, our Sabbath bread (which we share with our families) saying the blessings, singing songs with Rabbi Joel and so much more. The children love Fridays at our school.

We meet at our facility (4716 S. Coors Lane, Morrison, CO 80130) from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.

We accept children between the ages of 2.5 and 5 years old (pre-kindergarten).

Monthly tuition is $400.

Taste of Torah gives young children of all abilities and the adults that love them an opportunity to get to know the torah.  For most of us growing up the torah was something that we saw from afar and never really got to know until we were older, usually around the time of our Bar or Bat Mitzvah.  But for these children who have the chance to see, touch and “taste” the torah, they are beginning a love of torah that will hopefully last them their entire lives.

During “Taste of Torah” the children sing and listen to a story about the “Parsha” or portion of the week.  They do a craft activity that also relates to the Parsha, have a snack of challah and juice and finally it is time to “taste” the torah. The children gather around the table and gently one at a time take their yadayim (pointers) and begin finding letters that they know and begin to learn new letters.

So now we are training a new generation of torah “scholars”.  Children who in the future will know that the torah belongs to them and that it is their heritage.  It will become their past, their present and their future. It will become their responsibility as the torah says to “teach it diligently to their children.”

Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) is a sweet time of year.  A chance to look forward and a chance to reflect, even the children in our congregations need this opportunity.  Rabbi Joel Schwartzman leads a wonderful and meaningful services for even the youngest children to enjoy.  The service is approximately 30 minutes long, after which we enjoy a delicious snack of challah, apples, honey and juice.

After enjoying our snck, the young children are given the opportunity to create decorations for our sukkah (temporary hut), greeting cards for loved ones, and more.  While the youngest children (3rd grade and below) are making crafts, older siblings join Rabbi Schwartzman for an age apporpriate service all their own.

Parents are encouraged to stay and enjoy the morning with their child.

On Simchat Torah (Holiday which celebrates the Torah) we consecrate the kindergarteners of our Religious School. First, we give them a miniature Sefer (book) Toah, and then we hold an open tallit (prayer shawl) over them while blessing them. Then we renew the reading of the Torah by both finishing the Book of Deuteronomy and beginning the Book of Genesis all over again. We seven hakafot (parades) while dancing with the scrolls in our arms. We wave special flags and throw candy. The we wash hands and open a scroll all throughout and around the entirety of the sanctuary. It is a special privilege to see a sefer torah completely unwound---to realize how long the text actually is and to support it while not touching the sacred letters. Simchat Torah is our sweetest holiday in so many ways.

This event is held at our facilty in Morrison, Colorado (4716 S. Coors Lane)

This is free event.
