We value and encourage our members to learn, lead and experience Judaism. Over 18 havurot (friendship circles) organize Shabbat services in their neighborhoods and Shabbat dinners in their homes, enjoy film festivals together (and take advantage of group discounts!), hike/bike in area parks and organize other outdoor activities and camping trips. Our religious school for children K-7th grade is taught by professional teachers and produces a variety of educational programs, including monthly Tot-Shabbats, a new Sunday Parent/Tot class, Social Action Sundays and quarterly community-wide programs.
Our Rabbi, Evette Lutman, and our musical ensemble lead services along with lay leadership. Weekly Saturday morning services and monthly Friday night musical services and catered dinner occur at 6445 E. Ohio Ave, Denver, CO 80224. After services, you are welcome to stay for kiddush and learning with Rabbi Evette. The first Saturday of the month is usually a musical theme Shabbat led by Hal Aqua (of Los Landzman and Cowboy Hirsh) and Carla Sciaky (of the Folktunes and former Mother Folker).
We are a dynamic congregation made up talented individuals who lend their expertise to programs and events. Between our school, adult education offerings, extensive Library, Tikkun Olam ("repairing the world") activities and learning with our Rabbi, we create a vibrant Jewish community that is open to exploring Judaism through a Reconstructionist lens.
