First Taste is the youngest program for the Chabad of NW Metro Denver’s Hebrew School. For children 3 to 4 years old, it is designed to grab the very young child's attention with song, art, drama and games. By exposure to the aleph bet, Torah tales, prayer through song and holiday studies, a child gains a sense of pride and love for Judaism.
The class is taught by Chabad’s Hebrew School director, Mrs. Leah Brackman, who brings six years of Hebrew school teaching in addition to her experience of being a young mother into the classroom, creating an atmosphere of warmth and love for the children.
First Taste Hebrew School meets Sunday mornings beginning in September until Memorial Day, from 10 a.m.–12.15 p.m. The Hebrew School is located at Chabad of NW Metro Denver, 4505 W. 112th Ave., Westminster. For more information, please visit www.hebrewschoolisfun.com

Chabad of NW Metro Denver, an outreach organization for Jews of all backgrounds and affiliations, was founded in 2003 by Rabbi Benjy and Leah Brackman to fill the need of Jewish family programming in northwest metro Denver.
Chabad’s extensive array of programs includes: adult education, synagogue services, hospital visitations, bereavement counseling and a wide range of programs for children and young families including summer day camp, Hebrew school and holiday programs.
A special focus of Chabad’s holiday programming are the hands-on activities that accompany each event. These activities allow children to be fully engaged in the holiday experience.
Chabad of NW Metro Denver is located at 4505 W. 112th Ave. in Westminster in a ranch-style house that sits on two acres of land and backs up to open space. Many of our holiday programs are done off site at local recreation centers, hotels or entertainment complexes. The summer day camp is held at Ryan Elementary School in Westminster.
Because Chabad does not have any yearly membership fees, it allows all participants to feel welcome at all its events, even if they are a non-regular attendee or it is their first time participating. In addition, Chabad’s nonjudgmental approach allows participants of reform, conservative or Orthodox and unaffiliated backgrounds to feel included and part of Chabad’s extended family unit.
NW Metro Denver is a great place to raise a family, but it does come with challenges such as feeling isolated from other Jews and shlepping to Denver or Boulder for Jewish activities. Joining in Chabad of NW Metro Denver's events will alleviate some of these challenges and allow families to connect with one another in a fun and Jewish environment.
Our staff at Chabad of NW Metro Denver includes Rabbi Benjy Brackman. spiritual leader and executive director; Mrs. Leah Brackman, day damp and Hebrew school director; and Ms. Melissa Meyers, Hebrew school teacher.
