The Hebrew Educational Alliance is located in southeast Denver. Though we are one of the largest egalitarian-traditional Conservative congregations in the region, we pride ourselves on our small congregation warmth. We seek to provide congregants the opportunities for Jewish study, prayer and acts of kindness in the building of our community. To achieve this mission, we hold daily morning services as well as Friday night, Saturday morning and Saturday evening services every week and offer programming for all ages from toddlers to seniors.

Families and young children are welcomed, and have many opportunities to experience a strong sense of community, partnership, and connection as well as discovering a journey of lifelong Jewish learning with your young children. We offer weekly parent tot classes for children ages 6 months through 20 months, and a variety of preschool programs for all children ages 15 months to 4 years of age. Monthly parent education opportunities with guest speakers as well as weekly book clubs with our ECE Director and Rabbi Gruenwald are open to all to support you as a parent and as an individual learner.

An after-school religious school program for kindergartners through 7th graders supporting our mission of creating lifelong Jewish learners is also offered through the synagogue. We have youth groups for children in fourth through 12th grades, and Saturday morning Tot Shabbat and Junior Congregation programs for infants through eighth graders. We also have adult programs, including classes, lectures, movies, art events, dinners and family holiday and Shabbat programs.

Backyard Adventures Summer Camp 2012

Backyard Adventures Summer Camp, July 9th - July 20th and is designed just for preschool age children aged 15 months (and walking) through kindergarten.

Gather around the campfire to tell tall tales and sing silly songs. Camping is a great Colorado summer pastime. We will pitch our tents and “nap-out” under the stars.

Our campers make new friends, experience a wide range of activities, and discover new talents with the help of our seasoned staff. HEA Camp is the perfect place to learn a new sport, master a new skill and realize endless potential all while being cheered on by your camp family of friends.

Summer is a wonderful time to be a kid at camp. Daily activities will include water play, sports, games, bubbles, yoga, picnics and walks. We will kick off camp by planting our 4th annual Children’s Garden. The children love to dig in the dirt, plant seeds, water and tend to their garden throughout the summer.

Our morning camps (9-12:30) include free play, art, science & discovery, outdoor play, a morning snack, special activities on a rotating schedule, circle time, songs and music. Please send your child with a dairy lunch, sunscreen, a change of clothes, diapers (if needed) and a sheet for rest if you have signed up for afternoon programming. After lunch (12:30-3:00) the fun just keeps going with mixed age play, sing-a-longs on the lawn, soccer, summertime games, sprinklers, bouncing around and strolls around the neighborhood.

Barn-A-Palooza Summer Camp 2012

BARN-A-PALOOZA Summer Camp, June 11-June 22nd and is designed just for preschool age children aged 15 months (and walking) through kindergarten.

Down at HEA there was a great big cow, a cow that makes a sound like this….MOO! Join us as we learn about life on the farm, children will enjoy feeding and caring for our farm animals as well as, plant and tend crops for harvest.

Creative Cooks Summer Camp 2012

Creative Cooks Summer Camp, June 25th-July 6th (no camp on 4th of July) and is designed just for preschool age children aged 15 months (and walking) through kindergarten.

Measure, mix, chop, stir and eat!. Young chefs will create culinary masterpieces, enjoy picnics and tea parties, and even publish our very own cookbook.

GO USA!! Summer Olympics, Summer Camp 2012

Out OF This World! Summer Camp, August 6th - 10th and is designed just for preschool age children aged 15 months (and walking) through kindergarten.

Follow the torch and compete along with Team USA. Fun Olympic inspired events, art and music will be culminated with our very own medal ceremony. Come and play the games! Go for GOLD!!

Out OF This World! Summer Camp, July 23rd - August 3rd and is designed just for preschool age children aged 15 months (and walking) through kindergarten.

Summer Camp 2012

Our summer camps run consecutively for 9 weeks including 4 two week camps and 1 one-week camp from June 11-August 10 and are designed just for preschool age children aged 15 months (and walking) through kindergarten.

Independent Celebrations

Have a Jewish educator, rabbi or ritual leader create a unique Jewish experience for your family. A MazelTot discount covers 100% of the cost, up to a maximum of $250.

Baby Naming Brit Milah Ceremony

Congregation HEA offers personalized and meaningful baby naming and brit milah ceremonies to both members and non-members.

There is no fee for our services but you are welcome to apply the Mazel Tot subsidy toward an honorarium for the rabbi and/or cantor. Ceremonies may be held in the synagogue or off-site. For more information, please call 303-758-9400.

Preschool

Receive one free month of preschool tuition, applied over 9 or 12 months. A MazelTot discount covers one free month of tuition for one student, up to a maximum of $500. This discount can only be used by families new to Jewish preschool in Greater Denver and Boulder.

Parent Tot Preschool on Wednesdays

Create connections and make new friends! This class is designed for Parent/caregiver and infants/toddlers to participate together with an experienced facilitator in activities that will enrich and enhance socialization, build gross motor skills and promote language development. This class offers families with young children the opportunity to connect, share and have a fun play-based experience in a nurturing safe preschool environment. This class meets Wednesday mornings 9:15am-10:45am at the H.E.A. Preschool and is $80 per month.

Preschool Afternoon Enrichment

Children in our preschool may enjoy our afternoon enrichment program which includes Dance with Center Stage Starz Dance Studio, Super Sports with Jump Bunch, Super Science, Alef Bet Yoga with Yogi Kim, and Orff music lessons with Ms. Fran from Tempo Music. This enrichment is offerred as an extension to children enrolled in the preschool program. It is scheduled 12:30p.m. - 3:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Children will also enjoy a light snack and playground time or gross motor activity during the afternoon enrichment. All of these programs are designed with the individual child's needs and development in mind. The cost of this programming is $70 per month per program. Preschool for 15 to 23 Month Old Toddlers

Time to Explore, Expand, and Experience! This class supports toddler and parent. Developing a sense of autonomy and independence is the focus of this class as this may be a child's first experience in a group setting without his/her parents. Creating a partnership between families and staff, the teachers will work to support and gain your child's trust as they transition from home to school. Provocations are set up daily to invite sensory exploration. This play-based class provides a fun and exciting first time experience.

Preschool for 2 Year Olds

"Terrific Twos" is a time when children are expanding their world. We strive to support this ever expanding development by providing a safe warm nurturing environment that is rich in learning opportunities and Jewish traditions. Creating a partnership between families and staff, the teachers will work to support and gain your child’s trust as they transition from home to school. In addition to separation, learning to be member of a community is an important social skill for two year olds. During this year learning and development occurs in a hands-on manner in the classroom through the use of sensory materials and opportunities. Among the tools of play in the classrooms are water, play dough, books, puzzles, blocks, manipulative toys, dramatic play props, natural science provocations, paint, paper, and markers. Stories, music and movement are regular activities and are incorporated into the celebration of Jewish holidays.

Our 3 to 4 years old classrooms reflect the interests and developmental abilities of the age group, in particular increased attention span, more refined motor skills and greater problem solving skills. We begin to focus on reinforcing group skills and the development of expressive language through hands on experiences. The classrooms are organized with provocations set up by teachers and children in message centers, block construction areas, home centers, manipulative toys, naturals science materials, varied art tools and supplies, and books. Giving the children access to many different materials allows them to learn as resourceful individuals with a natural sense of curiosity. They move freely through the classroom, often spending some of that time working with a teacher either individually or in a small group to facilitate specific learning goals and ideas. Jewish traditions, values, and concepts are seamlessly woven through everyday activities as well as a special Shabbat celebration on Fridays.

The 3’s program meets from 9:00am to 12:30pm two, three, four, or five days per week. Our extended day program offered to 3 year-olds includes a rest period, light snack, gross motor/playground time, free classroom play, and special interactive hands on activity designed to enrich your child's development and growth. Preschool for 4 Year Olds *Pre-Kindergarten*

As children are 4 and 5, their investigations and explorations take on greater depth. They become more analytical in their thinking and are able to express their learning in a representational manner. Ideas and concepts often span over several weeks, depending on the interests and explorations of the group. Children often explore an area of the curriculum in small groups, allowing for a deep understanding of the subject matter, as well as lots of individual attention. Our strong teaching team infuses into these natural exploration opportunities of number sense, science, literacy, cognitive development, fine motor, and the self help skills that are needed in preparation for their transition to kindergarten. Jewish traditions, values, and concepts are seamlessly woven through everyday activities as well as a special Shabbat celebration on Fridays. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse community of learners with a love of life long Jewish connections and learning.
