In Jewish tradition, the arrival of a new baby is greeted with a two-part ceremony:
1. Welcoming the baby by bringing him or her into the Covenant (Brit).
2. Giving the baby a name by which he or she will be known in the Jewish community.
At Judaism Your Way, we offer ceremonies for both girls and boys at your home or the location of your choice. We will work with you to craft a ceremony that reflects your relationship to Judaism and your dreams for this exciting new addition to your family.

Judaism Your Way is a nondenominational, nonmembership Denver-based outreach organization that welcomes all Jews and their loved ones, including interfaith and GLBT individuals, couples and families. By lowering and eliminating the institutional, attitudinal and financial barriers that can keep people from exploring the Jewish possibilities on their own paths, Judaism Your Way provides a wide range of opportunities for making Jewish participation personal, meaningful and accessible.
Judaism Your Way is staffed by Executive Director Lolly Gold, Program Assistant Samantha Raizen and Reconstuctionist-trained Rabbi Brian Field. Our range of skills and experiences gives us a sensitivity to a wide range of Jewish approaches and lifestyles. We see Judaism as a deeply generous, inclusive and flexible spiritual tradition.
"Wherever you are on your Jewish journey, we'll meet you there," is not only our motto. It's our principle and it's our practice.
Independent Celebrations
In addition to the rituals of welcoming any baby, adopting a non-Jewish child can raise the issue of conversion. At Judaism Your Way, we will consult with you about rituals and procedures in a way that reflects your relationship to Judaism and is sensitive to your identity and goals as a family.
If you recently moved into a new home or would like to dedicate your home, Rabbi Field will work with you to create a ceremony that is sensitive to the ways Judaism is meaningful to you. As a part of the ritual you might choose to mount a mezuzah on your door.
Have you ever wanted to host a Shabbat celebration in your home but hesitated because you weren’t sure what to do? Rabbi Field and our JYW staff will be happy to come to your home to help lead the celebration. They will discuss options for both Friday and Saturday evening gatherings and can teach you the skills to make your Shabbat celebration something you and your children will grow into and look forward to creating time and time again.
