Become prepared for situations you'll face as parents of infants from the moment your baby is born, including baby's first bath, how to swaddle, sleep safety, recognizing signs of distress and much more. Learn how to keep baby and toddler out of harm's way, including practical advice about baby-proofing and CPR demonstrations. Taught by Drs. Sharon Sagel and Lisa Schwartz of Southeast Denver Pediatrics.

For children 8 weeks to pre-crawling and their caregivers. This class provides new and fun ways to bond with your babies using singing, finger-play, nursery rhymes, instruments and movement. Come and nurture you and your baby's natural musical abilities in this fun class.

While breastfeeding is a "natural process" it's mostly a learned art. The more you know, the fewer problems you will have. After attending a class, you will be aware of the obstacles that can occur in the first days and weeks and know how to handle them. Instructor: Donna Brown, R.N., IBCLC

Designed for expectant parents and presented as a joint class with Rose Medical Center, this innovative program combines child-birth education with an exploration of the Jewish traditions and rituals connected with pregnancy, birth and parenting. Participants join the Boot Camp for New Dads and Miracles and Mayhem classes for their last session. Class time is spent discussing the anticipated postpartum experience and hearing the real stories of new moms and dads.

Babies love to watch older kids and older kids love to be leaders in this fun mixed-age class.  Parents/caregivers will support their children, as they explore and discover their own sense of rhythm and singing voices.  Play with egg shakers, rhythm sticks, bells, drums and more. Activities include singing, dancing, lap-songs, instrument and prop play, and creative movement.

Designed for crawlers to walkers, this class focuses on gross motor development for children who are ready to move and groove. We will help them become body-aware while exploring different aspects of our tumbling equipment, including balance beams, tramplines, tunnels, balls and more.

Relax, stretch, and come meet other expectant moms. Instructor, Jenny Fleming has been teaching pre-natal/post-natal yoga since she was pregnant with her first child nine years ago. She has been trained in Iyengar yoga and is a massage therapist and a registered nurse. Here is a yoga class where expectant moms can do yoga knowing that the poses are safe and chosen specifically for their needs. This class is available to all JCC members (you do not have to be a Sports and Fitness Center member) and non-members as well. Sessions will be 6 weeks long.

The JCC Early Childhood Center’s Parent Volunteer Association presents: “Supporting Your Parenting Journey.”  Join other parents on the third Friday of every month from 8:30am – 9:30am in the JCC Board Room to discuss topics that are facilitated by a volunteer psychologist from the JCC-ECC preschool community.  The agenda is largely open, and parents are encouraged to come ready to talk about the challenges, and rewards, of parenting young children.  Psychologists will share their perspectives on children’s development, parenting strategies, and parent-child relationships.  You are welcome to attend any or all of these gatherings, and we look forward to seeing you there!  Call 303-316-6377 for more information.
