Temple Emanuel is a dynamic Reform synagogue. Our mission is to inspire individuals to maximize their Jewish identity and to participate actively in our religious community. Temple Emanuel has multiple opportunities for families and individuals to participate in a plethora of activities that suit their interests.
Some of the programs offered are the following:
Temple Emanuel Preschool and Kindergarten is a welcoming dynamic Jewish Preschool where all children are valued, respected and encouraged to grow, within a community of learners who are compassionate and dedicated to social, emotional and academic growth. Through a play-based/emergent curriculum children learn the fundamental concept of socializing and getting along with one another. Our emergent curriculum develops activities and enriches environments which reflect the children's interest, while offering appropriate developmental tasks. Jewish holidays are celebrated in a manner appropriate for young children. On Thursdays and Fridays the children experience the beauty of the holiday of Shabbat - wherein blessings are said over candles, juice and challah. The preschool also offers a summer camp where enriching field trips and outdoor experiences are offered on the premises. The children enjoy swimming, water play and a host of outdoor activities. A large part of the day is spent outdoors exploring the world around them.
Worship Services take place all year round. Families can choose from Friday night services, Shabbat dinners, and Saturday worship services followed by Torah study and a light Kiddush luncheon. Tot Shabbat services and dinner occur once a month for parents with young children and once a month on Saturday for young families.
Adult Programs - The Network is a Senior Group that holds various activities through the month. They visit the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the Zoo and visit exhibits at the Mizel Museum of History, to name just a few.
Youth Programs - Frankel Club Junior Youth Group for 6, 7, & 8th grades do a variety of challenging activities. Friedman Club Temple Youth Group for 9-12 grades have their own board members and explore learning, praying and fun. Shwayder Camp is a phenomenal Jewish outdoor living experience that provides a camp experience to over 450 children every summer in the mountains.
Religious School - The Temple offers a Religious School Program, with strong family education and social action components ranging from kindergarten to tenth graders. The programs are designed to engage both the hearts and minds of our children.
Brotherhood and Sisterhood - Monthly Brotherhood and Sisterhood Programs take place. Some of the activities consist of Barbeques, Lox'n Bagels Breakfasts, Girls Night Out and Rosh Chodesh Programs.
Social Justice programs - K'Vod Catering cooks serve the homeless every other week on Sunday afternoons. Grief Support Group runs through the year for those families feeling the loss of a loved one and are in need of comfort. Habitat Interfaith continues to build homes for families. Hospital Visits - the clergy regularly visits patients who are in the hospital.
