Family Tashlich

Tashlich (תשליך) is a ritual that many Jews observe during Rosh HaShanah. "Tashlich" means "casting off" in Hebrew and involves symbolically casting off the sins of the previous year by tossing pieces of bread into a body of flowing water. Just as the water carries away the bits of bread, so too are sins symbolically carried away.Free

Join the Family Simchat Torah Celebration Friday evening, September 30, 2010 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  Join with our clergy and other members of the Alliance as we celebrate Simchat Torah, the joyous Festival when the Torah-cycle ends and immediately begins. Dance, parade, sing and enjoy refreshments as we celebrate together. Join us again the next morning at 8:50 a.m. as we complete the reading of the Torah and begin anew.

Kol Nidre Service

Join Minyan Na'aleh for a spirited, traditional free Kol Nidre (Yom Kippur eve) service (location TBD). Our Kol Nidre service is lay led and full of energizing and uplifting communal singing to charge you up for this holiest day of the Jewish year.  The service is primarily in Hebrew and transliterations will be provided.  Parts of the service are led by men and women.  There will be separate seating areas for mixed (men and women), men only and women only.  Childcare is provided.
